In Killingworth (St.John) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 39823 Private W.H. Forster serving with the 1st/6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 02/06/1918.

The family headstone reads:

who died of wounds received in
France, June 2nd 1918
aged 33 years.

aged 59 years.
Also the ashes of
Sarah Ann Cross
daughter of the above
who died May 16th 1961,
aged 67 years.
Also the ashes of
Margaret Hilda Gatenby
died Aug. 21 st 1963
aged 66 years.
