In Mericourt-L'Abbe Communal Cemetery extension is the Commonwealth War Grave of 10118 Private William Wigham, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 03/07/1916.

In Blyth (Cowpen) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
James,
the beloved son of
John and Elizabeth
Wigham
who died from wounds
received in action
in France,
Nov.1 1917,
aged 25 years & 10 months.
Also William, their son
who was killed in action
in France
July 1 1916,
aged 26 years.
Also the above
John Wigham
died Jan. 9 1940
aged 77 years.
Also Elizabeth Wigham
died April 7 1961
aged 96 years.
Robert Wigham
dearly loved husband of Jane
died 9 Nov. 1961, aged 60 years.
Cremated.

The Blyth News 04/07/1921 carries an In Memoriam Notice:
WIGHAM - in loving memory of Private William Wigham, N.F., who fell in action, July 1st, 1916. Ever remembered by his father and mother, sisters and brothers. Death divides but memory clings.

William Wigham was the brother of James Wigham

He is remembered at Blyth on B42.24 and at Cowpen on C58.01
