Holland, J.J., Pte., 1916
In Albert Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 29/5 Private Joseph James Holland, serving with the 20th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 04/06/1916.

Morpeth Herald 07/07/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Holland, of 36 Mortimer Street, Hartford Colliery, has received official intimation that her husband, Private Joseph James Holland, N.F., was killed in France on June 5th [sic]. Prior to joining the Colours he worked at Hartford Colliery. He was 27 years of age, and leaves a widow and three children.

He is remembered at East Hartford on E8.02 and at Cramlington on C60.03
