Brown, H., Pte., 1917
In Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 23461 Private Harry Brown, serving with the 40th Company Labour Corps, who died 09/08/1917.

Morpeth Herald 31/08/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Private J. [sic] Brown, of Earsdon, has been killed in action. He was a surface worker, and was employed at Holywell Colliery. He was a member of the Labour Battalion. Several of his comrades were killed on the same day by a shell.

He is remembered in Earsdon on E3.01 E3.02 and E3.03
