a. Unveiled 6th November 1921 by J.R. Hall. Dedicated by the Bishop of Newcastle on Tyne.

Memorial Description

Five panels, each measuring 2 feet 3 inches high x 11 inches wide, screwed into the wall separately. Total length 5 feet 8 inches. The centre plaque bears the dedication, and beneath it is the "I.H.S." symbol. Two panels to its right bear the names from 1914-18, two panels on the left bear the names from 1939-45. The letters are incised and gilded, the dedication in Roman capitals and the names in sans serif capitals.

Notes

1. The Faculty for 1939-45 allows for the removal of a 1914-18 memorial from the SE corner of the church (see E3.03) and to re-erect the panels at the west end, with two additional panels bearing the names from 1939-45.
