On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 14186 Private Ambrose Bickle, serving with the 11th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 07/07/1916.

Morpeth Herald 02/03/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Stephen, of 17 Cross Row, West Cramlington, has received news that her brother, Private A. Bickle, previously reported missing, is now reported as killed in action.

[and]

Private Ambrose Sickle [sic], of 42 Terrace Road, Cramlington, reported wounded and missing since July 7th, is now officially reported to have been killed on that date.

He is remembered in Cramlington on C60.01 and C60.03
