The 1901 Census shows that the family, father Henry G. Eke and wife, Sarah Elizabeth, lived with their son Frederick James, at 101 East Row, East Hartford, Hartford Colliery.
Henry G Eke, aged 31, was a Coalminer Shifter, who was born in Ildeslo, Norfolk. His wife, Elizabeth, was aged 29 and was born in Cambridge. Frederick James, aged 5, was also born at Ildeslo.
A photo shows that they had another son.
Frederick became a miner and married Mary Isabelle Eke. They had a daughter, Mary, who was born in 1917.
He gained the British War and Victory Medals.
