In Blyth (Cowpen) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of Third Radio Officer John Boulter, serving with the Merchant Navy who died 08/01/1945.

The headstone reads:

In
Loving memory of
James Boulter
Died 2nd April 1978
Aged 80 years
And his dear wife
Elizabeth
Died 4th April 1977
Aged 74 years
Also their son
John Boulter
Died 8th Jan. 1945
Aged 18 years.

He is remembered in Blyth on B42.19 and B42.23 and on our List of Ships’ crews
