Sgt Rickeard was one of the seven crewmen killed when Lancaster I PB851 PH-S of 12 Squadron was lost without trace on a mission to Munich.
Also killed in the same incident was F/Sgt. H. Croucher
Robert Rickeard is remembered at Annitsford on A25.05 and A25.06 and in Cramlington on C60.03
