In Corsenside (St.Cuthbert) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 3321 Private J. Johnston, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 21/12/1915.

The family headstone reads:

wife of George Johnston,
who died 26 March 1910,
aged 48 years.
Also the above
George Johnstone
who died 11 Augt. 1924,
aged 64 years.
Also their son
Pte. John Johnston
4th Northumberland Fusiliers,
who died 21 Decr. 1915
aged 30 years.
Also their daughter
Jemima Johnston
who died 7 Octr, 1905
aged 21 years.
