In St.Peter's Churchyard is a family headstone, now broken, for Kennedy which reads – as far can be ascertained:

A tribute of love
to my dear husband
Joseph Kennedy
died 23rd April ?1940 aged 60
?Mary Elizabeth Kennedy
???
Also our dear son Robbie
Killed in action 24 March 1945
Aged 26 years

Sydney Graham has submitted the following:

7266931 Private Robbie Kennedy was a soldier with 225 Parachute Field Ambulance, part of 5 Infantry Brigade, which took part in Operation Varsity, the crossing of the Rhine in 1945. The troops were transported to their landing zones by glider and, on reaching enemy territory were subjected to intense enemy fire. 5 Infantry Brigade landed at Diersfordtwald, an area of forest and heath northwest of the town of Wesel, on 24th March 1945 and gained their objectives fairly quickly but they sustained many casualties, amongst them Robbie Kennedy. Private Kennedy is buried in the Reichswald Commonwealth War Cemetery near Kleve in Germany.
