On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 1063 Private George Robson Swan, serving with the Northern Cyclist Battalion who died 08/09/1916.

There appear to be some discrepancies regarding his rank. Help would be gratefully received.

George Robson Swan was a former Scoutmaster of the 1st Jesmond Troop.

He is remembered at Jesmond on J1.35, J1.42 and J1.47
