Renner, H., A/Smn., 1916
On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/1774 Able Seaman Henry Renner, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 13/11/1916.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Henry was born on 1st February 1890. He was working as a butcher living with his wife, Elizabeth at 2, Bridge Street, Newbiggin by the Sea when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 14th November 1914.

He eventually joined the Howe Battalion on 10th January 1916 and was killed in action in France on 13th November 1916.

Henry Renner is remembered in Newbiggin by the Sea on N10.03, N10.06 and N10.14
