In Hazebrouck Communal Cemetery, Nord, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 90223 Gunner J. Strong, serving with “A” Battery 51st Brigade Royal Field Artillery, who died 07/10/1917.

Morpeth Herald 26/10/1917 carries a brief obituary:
ROLL OF HONOUR
STRONG.- Died of wounds, October 20th [sic], received October 6th, aged 20 years and 9 months, Gunner J.W. Strong, youngest son of George and Isabella Strong, Coalburn, late of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.- Deeply mourned.

John William Strong is remembered at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea on N10.06

His name also appears at Hepscott but the Hepscott Heritage Group cannot find any connection with him and the village, and would appreciate any help.
