Margaret Burgess has submitted the following:-
Hugh born about 1892 was the second son of Edward and Alice Wilkinson of 3 Lynwood Avenue, Newbiggin by the Sea.
Hugh enlisted at Ashington and joined the West Yorkshire Regiment. He entered the Balkan Theatre of War 11th July 1915 and died 9th August 1915.
He was the recipient of the 1915 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
Two of his brothers John George and Edward both died in the Great War.
Hugh Wilkinson is remembered at Newbiggin by the Sea on N10.03, N10.06, N10.14 and N10.15
