Edward born about 1894 was the third son of Edward and Alice Wilkinson of 3 Lynwood Avenue, Newbiggin by the Sea.
Edward enlisted at Ashington and joined the Northumberland Fusiliers. He embarked for France 25th August 1915. He was awarded the Military Medal.
Edward was killed on 7th August 1917 and is remembered on Panel 5 of the Nieuport Memorial.
His brother Hugh died 9th August 1915 at Gallipoli and his eldest brother John George died 11 June 1916 also serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers.
Recipient of the 1915 Star, the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
