In Calais Southern Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 52293 Private Richard Renner, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 04/05/1917.

In Newbiggin (St. Bartholomew) Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory
of
Jane
dearly beloved daughter of
Richard
and Margaret Isabella
Renner
who died July 29th 1915
aged 12 years and 3 months
Also Richard their son
who died
in Calais Hospital
on May 4th from wounds
received in action
on April 26th 1917
aged 27 years.
Interred in France
Also the above
Margaret Isabella
who died Jan. 12th 1949
aged 60 years.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he formerly served with service number 149626 with the Royal Hussars and Royal Field Artillery.
