Moore, H.C., A/Smn., 1917
On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/T4230 Able Seaman Henry Cecil Moore, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 17/02/1917.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Henry was born on 14th November 1886. He was working as a miner living with his parents, John and Susannah at, 5, South Parade, Choppington, Northumberland when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 22nd April 1915.

He joined the Nelson Battalion on 21st September 1915 and was invalided to the UK on 4th December 1915 suffering from Enteritis.

Henry joined the Howe Battalion in France on 20th August 1916 and was posted as missing later reported as killed in action on 17th February 1917.

His brother John Percy Moore also died.

Henry Cecil Moore is remembered in Choppington on C36.01, C36.02, C36.03 and C36.04
