Clark, P.M., L/Cpl., 1916
On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 22/295 Lance Corporal Philip Mabon Clark, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

Philip was born in Newsham, Blyth, in 1891, the son of George and Isabella Clark and he worked down the coal mine. In 1910 he married Margaret Jane Mills and they lived at 7, Trojan Street, Stakeford.

Philip died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme and is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

He is remembered in Bedlington Station on B163.04 and in Bedlington on B15.06
