On the Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the name of 22302 Private Charles Bernard Cramer, serving with the 12th/13th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 04/10/1917.

Charles was born in 1892, the second son to John and Catherine Cramer. In addition to being a miner his father was also a local councillor, and died shortly before Charles. Charles became a miner like his father. He enlisted in Newcastle into the 12/13th Northumberland Fusiliers and was sent to France on 17th December 1917. He was killed in action near Ypres.

Morpeth Herald 02/11/1917 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

CRAMER.- Killed in action on Oct. 4th, 1917, Private Charles B. Cramer, aged 25 years, beloved son of Catherine and the late John Cramer, of Bedlington Colliery.- Ever remembered by his mother, brothers, and sisters.

He is remembered in Bedlington Station on B163.04 and in Bedlington on B15.06 and B15.17
