In Serre Road Cemetery No.2 is the Commonwealth War Grave of 20/418 Private William Hunter, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

William Hunter was born in Bedlington, Northumberland, was the son of Mr David Hunter and the husband of Mrs Mary Ann Hunter. They lived at 7 Old Colliery Row, Bells Place, Bedlington and he was employed as a coal miner. He enlisted at Bedlington.

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.03, B15.06, B15.20 and B15.26
