ASHINGTON

Maughan, A.M., Pte., 1916
In St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 7028 Private Arthur Mosely Maughan, serving with the 7th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, who died 06/10/1916.

He was the son of the late George and Mary Maughan, of Amble.

Morpeth Herald 27/10/1916 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

MAUGHAN.- Died of wounds on October 6th, 1916, at Rouen, France, aged 28 years, Private Arthur M. Maughan, eldest son of Mary and the late George Maughan, late of Amble.- (Deeply mourned by his mother, sister and brother.)

Margaret Allison states that he lived in Ashington.

Arthur Mosely Maughan is remembered at Amble on A13.03 and at Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27) and A17.43
