Cropp, R.F., Pte., 1916
On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 25/828 Private Richard Fynes Cropp, serving with the 25th (Tyneside Irish) Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 01/07/1916.

Margaret Allison reports that in 1911 his address was 61 Myrtle Street and that he was aged 20 years when he died.

Morpeth Herald 02/03/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Lance-Corporal [sic] Richard Fynes Cropp, N.F., eldest son of Sarah and the late Thos. Cropp, previously reported missing, is now reported as killed in action on July 1st, 1916.

He is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27), and A17.43
