Kinnaird, D., Pte., 1916
On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 23126 Private David Kinnaird, serving with the 11th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, who died 01/07/1916.

Morpeth Herald 25/08/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mr and Mrs M. Kinnaird, 80 Beatrice Street, Hirst, have received word that their son, Private D. Kinnaird, 23,126 [sic], Royal Inniskillings, has been missing since July 1st. Prior to joining the Colours, he was employed at Linton Colliery.

Margaret Allison records that in 1911 he was living at 80 Beatrice Street, Ashington, and that he was 25 years old when he died.

He is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27), A17.15 and A17.43
