He was the son of Mrs. Barbara Jefferson, of 10, Seventh Avenue, Seaton Hirst, Ashington.

Morpeth Herald 02/03/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Private Samuel Jefferson, Seaton Hirst, has been killed in action. He has been missing since July 1st.
