ASHINGTON

Haggerty, F., Pte., 1917

Blyth News 06/06/1921

In Bailleul Road East Cemetery, St.Laurent-Blangy is the Commonwealth War Grave of 26/965 Private Frederick Haggerty, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 05/06/1917.

The following Remembrance Tribute was paid to him in the Blyth News 06/06/1921:

"Haggerty - In loving remembrance of our dear son, Fred Haggerty, of 130 Hawthorn Road, Ashington, killed in action June 5th, 1917. Interred in Northumberland British Cemetery, Arras.
We have stood by his grave in France,
With hearts both crushed and sore.
Yet through the gloom we seemed to hear his sweet voice say
'Not lost to you, dear ones, but only gone a little while before.'
Always fondly remembered by his father, mother and brothers."
