In Ovillers Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 20/309 Private William Bone, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

Margaret Allison states that his address in 1911 was 92 Chestnut Street, and that he was 40 years old when he died.

Morpeth Herald 08/09/1916 carries the following:
Lance-Corpl. [sic] W[illiam] Bone, Ashington, missing.
