Alnwick Gazette Almanack 1918

In Embleton (Spitalford) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
Jonathan James
beloved husband of Elizabeth Roxby
who died August 1, 1915, aged 55 years
Also of James Pratt, their son
who as killed in action in France,Dec. 19, 1917, aged 22 years.
Also of Thomas Hugh, their son
who died at Callally, April 12, 1898
aged 8 months.
Until the day break
and the shadows flee away.
Also of Elizabeth, wife of the the
above Jonathan James Roxby
who died Nov. 30th 1937,
aged 78 years.

He is remembered in Embleton on E27.01 E27.05 and in the Alnwick Gazette Almanack 1918
