Henderson, D., A/Smn., 1917
In Point-du-Jour Military Cemetery, Athies is the Commonwealth War Grave of Tyneside Z/423 Able Seaman David Taggart Henderson, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 21/09/1917.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

David was born on 12th February 1894 and was working as a miner living with his mother, Polly Baston in Acklington Road, Amble when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 17th October 1914.

He joined the Benbow Battalion on 22nd February 1915 and transferred to the Hood Battalion on 12th June 1915 where he served until he went sick with Dysentery. David rejoined the Hood Battalion on 23rd December 1915 and reported sick with Impetigo on 29th May 1917. After rejoining the Hood Battalion again on 30th August 1917 David died of wounds on 21st September 1917.

Note: Both the CWGC and the local memorials record him as David Taggart Henderson.
