Communion table. Brass plaque on oak base.

1914-1918. Our Glorious Dead. To the Glory of God and in honoured memory of the following men who gave their lives for us during the Great War. These, through the gate of sacrifice entered a greater kingdom. Also in grateful recognition of those who served.

Notes

1. This was St. John’s Methodist Church from 1932, which closed in 1963 when it joined with Catchgate Methodist Free Church.

2. Miss Reed, an old and trusted member of the church, made a beautiful gift of vases for use on the new memorial table.
