Grey, M.H., Pte., 1917
In Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 245284 Private Martin Henry Grey, serving with the 10th Battalion (Service) Durham Light Infantry who died 29/10/1917.

Martin Henry Grey was born on the 23 June 1898, at Craster, Northumberland, the son of Thomas Grey, of Panhaven Road, Amble, Miner, and his wife, Margaret Isabella, daughter of Martin Archbold.

Martin was educated at the Church of England School, Dunstan, near Craster. He enlisted in the Durham Light Infantry 17 April 1917, and served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from the 17th July, and died at the No 3 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station 29th October 1917, of wounds received in action. Buried in Military Cemetery, Lyssenthock. He was unmarried.
