Joyce and Neil Brison have submitted the following:

STRAFFEN Thomas, 18488, Lance Corporal, East Yorkshire Regiment 3rd Bn. died 12 February 1919 age 22. He is listed as the son of John and Isabella Straffen of Breamest House, Powburn - this should be Breamish House.

He is not on Alnwick war memorial but is remembered in St Bartholomew’s Church Whittingham.

Thomas Straffen is remembered in Embleton E27.01 and E27.05, in Powburn on P39.01 and at Whittingham on W48.01
