In Alnwick Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1590345 Flight Sergeant Charles William Lillico, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 08/06/1944.

Sgt. Lillico was serving with 78 Sqdn. He was a crew member of Halifax III LV868 EY- which took off from Breighton on a successful communications rail bombing mission to Juvisy. The aircraft was attacked by a night-fighter and was damaged. It crashed at West Malling. All survived except Sgt. Lillico who died from injuries received.
