In Khartoum War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 914794 Serjeant Peter Scott Aynsley, serving with the Royal Artillery, who died 7/4/1941.

In Newcastle upon Tyne (St.Nicholas) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

who died 26th August 1896
in her 20th year.
Also Robert Michael,
their infant son
died 17th July 1878 aged 1 year.
Michael Aynsley
died 2nd June 1932 aged 88 years
followed by his dear wife
Eliza
who died 1st September 1932
aged 84 years.
after 63 years of happy married life

to the memory of
Kenneth Scott Dimmer,
who gave his life at Arnhem
September 26th 1944
aged 24 years.
Also Peter Scott Aynsley
who died on active service
April 7th 1941
aged 23 years.
