In Railway Dugouts Burial Ground, Transport Farm) is the Commonwealth War Grave of Captain David McDonald Chambers, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 20/02/1917.

Unit: 12th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, 68th Brigade, 23rd Division
Home / Base prior to enlistment: London
Killed in action aged 40 on Tuesday 20th February 1917
Interred Railway Dugouts Burial ground, Zillebeke, Ieper (Ypres), Belgium

Supplementary Notes:

1. Capt. Chambers served with the Royal Engineers at Gallipoli in 1915
2. The 68th Brigade was operating in the vicinity of Hill 60 at the time of his death.

David McDonald Chambers is remembered at Newcastle on NUT009 and in the D.L.I. Book of Remembrance page 32.
