In Newcastle upon Tyne (St.Andrew’s and Jesmond) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 105996 Flying Officer Henry Forbes Hamilton serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 14/01/1943.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
James Hamilton
beloved husband of Elizabeth
who died 8 Sept. 1950 aged 68
And their son
F/O Harry F. Hamilton
killed on active service
14 Jan. 1943 aged 25
Also Elizabeth
beloved wife of James
who died 30 April 1969 aged 86.

There is also a vase which reads:

In
Memory of
Flying Officer
Harry Forbes
Hamilton
killed in action
14th Jan. 1943
Aged 25 years.

of R.A.F. Kemble

He is listed in the Scout Roll of Honour 1939-45 as having served with the 15th Newcastle on Tyne Group.

Harry Forbes Hamilton is remembered in Jesmond on J1.13 and in a RAF Book of Remembrance
