In St.Nicholas Churchyard is a family headstone for Dobson which reads:

They are not dead but sleep

Sydney Dobson was the son of Charles Wellburn Dobson and Deborah Dobson, of "Grangewood", Victoria Rd., Sandown, Isle of Wight.  He was husband of Ruth Dobson.

He is remembered at Gosforth G9.21
