In Maple Copse Cemetery, Belgium is the Commonwealth War Grave of 2134 Corporal Arthur Chapman, serving with ‘C’ Company, 1st/6th Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 14/02/1916.

Arthur was born in South Gosforth, the son of Stewart and Mary Jane of 18 Delaval Road, Forest Hall. He is named on a Special Memorial reading ‘known to be buried elsewhere in this cemetery’.
