In Ashburton Roman Catholic Cemetery is a family headstone for Herron which reads:

Isabella
beloved wife of Peter Herron
of Coxlodge
died July 30th 1913, aged ?49 years
also of Peter
the dearly beloved husband of above
died Nov. 14th 1918, age d54 years.
also of Pte Albert Herron, No.2610 N.F.
died of wounds July 21st 1918
aged 22 years
buried at Boulogne, France
also of Pte. Augustine Herron,
No. 2607 N.F. killed in action
September 15th 1918, aged 20 years
buried at High Wood France
sons of the above.
also of John Herron
son of the above
died June 7th 1927, aged 35 years.

He is remembered in Gosforth on G9.21 and G9.32
