In Menin Road South Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 3291 Gunner Thomas William Wadey, serving with the Royal Garrison Artillery who died 03/12/1915.

Newcastle Daily Journal 17/12/1915 reports:

Jarrow Gunner killed.
News has been received by his wife, Mrs. Wadey, of ?44 Lord Street, Jarrow, of the death of her husband, Gunner Thomas Wadey, who was killed in action.

Vin Mullen reports that Thomas Wadey was his great uncle.

Thomas William Wadey is remembered in Jarrow on J2.10 and J2.46
