Memorial Description
Triptych. The central frame is 26 inches high x 22 inches (559mm x 660mm) wide. It is surmounted by a carving of grapes and vines on either side of a roundel containing a figure (Christ? St. Paul?). Below it, the frame has the words “Dying, behold we live” sited above a shelf at the bottom.
On each side is a hinged panel, 26 inches high x 10.5 inches wide. (660mm x 266mm). Each frame (centre panel and two side panels) has a gilded inner edge.
The central panel has a wide border of entwined leaves, culminating in the badge in each corner of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The names are listed in four columns.
The two outer panels have a roundel at centre top containing an angel and the date on either side. The names are listed in two columns on each panel. At the foot of each is a decoration on either side of the English flag.
