Richardson, J., A/Smn., 1915
In Skew Bridge Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of KX/234 Able Seaman John Richardson, serving with the Howe Battalion, R.N. Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 06/06/1915.

John Richardson was born 29th January 1894, in Jarrow, son of Alfred Richardson of 34 Front Street, Annitsford.

He was educated at Annitsford School and worked at the Seghill Colliery.

John joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on the outbreak of war in August 1914. Served at Gallipoli, and was killed on the 6th June 1915.
