In Jonkerbos War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1596812 Sergeant Air Gunner Martin Brennan, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 01/01/1945.

Sgt. Brennan was serving with 75 Squadron. He was a crew member of Lancaster III ME321 AA-N which took off from Mepal on a bombing mission to Vohwinkel. The aircraft crashed near Maastricht killing all the crew.

Lancaster ME3321 AA-N had departed Mepal at 1548 for Ops Vohwinkel. It was intercepted at 3500M, NW of Maastricht by a Night-Fighter captained by Nacht-Jagd “Experten” Hptm Heinz Rokker (II/NJG2) and shot down at 2007 for his 46th Abschuss
