Thomas Edward (Tom) was born in 1890 at Cockerton the son of John Henry (Town Postman) and Jane Nicholson. He had 4 brothers and 3 sisters. In 1911 they lived at 6, North Terrace, Cockerton and Tom was a plumber.
Tom enlisted at Darlington and joined the Royal Engineers.
He died at the 53rd Casualty Clearing Station.
