In St. Peter's Churchyard is a family headstone for Richards which includes:

Lieut. H.S. Richards
Born Jan. 26th 1896

He is remembered at Wolviston on W129.01 W129.02 and W129.04 and in Barnard Castle on B135.04 and B135.20

In the Barnard School book he is described as coming from Whitley Bay.
