Sergt. C. Gooding.
As a member of the Territorials was called up on the outbreak of war, he being attached to the 5th D.L.I. In April, 1915, he went to France as a Lance-Corporal, and was wounded a month later. Proceeding again to France in February 1916, as a Corporal, he was afterwards promoted to Sergeant, and was killed in September 18 of the same year.
Cyril Gooding is remembered in Stockton on S138.12, S138.18a page 22, S138.29 and S138.33, in the Battalion Book of Remembrance page 11 and in the DLI Book of Remembrance page 252
