Harrison, J.A., Pt/Off, 1944
In Veel Churchyard, Meuse, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 173612 Pilot Officer John Albert Harrison, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 13/07/1944.

P/O Harrison was the pilot of Avro Lancaster III PA999 PM-S of 103 Squadron, which was lost on a mission to bomb railway targets at Revigny. The Lancaster was shot down by a Luftwaffe night-fighter, and crashed near Veel with the loss of six of the seven crew.

Also killed in the same incident was Sgt. J.M. Mitchinson
