Lance Corporal Adam Hudson was in the 2nd Battalion of the Border Regiment. He was the son of the late Adam Howard, and his wife, Ann (17 Clive Street, Southwick-on-Wear, Sunderland, Co Durham) born about 1888.
Adam was educated at the Southwick Board School.
He enlisted in about 1903. [formerly with the Northumberland Fusiliers, Service Number 1784].
Adam was employed at Thompsons Yard in Sunderland.
He was called up from the reserve on the 5th August 1914, and was promoted in the field to a Lance-Corporal. He was killed in action in France on the 16th May 1915.
