Carss, H.C., 2nd Lieut., 1917
In Longuenesse (St. Omer) Souvenir Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Second Lieutenant Herbert Crosley Carss, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 08/10/1917.

When the Weightman Hall was built, a foundation stone was laid which reads:

This stone was laid
in loving memory of
Herbert Crosley Carss
(next line cannot be read)
...............................Crosley

Herbert Carss was brought up by his grandmother, Mrs. Crosley, who unveiled this stone.

The building is now the Methodist Church.
