In St. Cuthbert's Churchyard is a family headstone for Welsh which reads:

In loving memory of
Sydney
dearly beloved son of James
and Emma Welsh of New Herrington
who died February 9th 1919
aged 9 years
Also George , our dear son,
who was killed in France.
September 9th, 1916,
aged 19 years 6 months
"At rest".

George Welsh is remembered at Herrington on H137.06
